A Note from Mom: Oh...how my heart breaks

The other day I got home from running errands. Lily had been hanging out at home with Joe. I sat down and Lily jumped up on my lap and said "Lily miss you when you were goooone!" She repeated this a few times, hugging me to her. Then she said later "Love mommy toooo!" without any prompting. We have a little joke going between us. I tell her I love her. She yells "noooooooo!" Or I ask do you love Mommy? And she says: "nooooooooo love mommy!" So this was a priceless moment. My eyes watered and I held her close. My first broken heart from this little girl, and surely not my last. These terrible two's aren't that bad after all...well, for today.

4th of July

The 4th was pretty traditional this year, but I was a lot more of a participant compared to last year...well in some ways. In the morning Dad put the flag up and we went to the Carmichael parade down the street. The weather was beautiful so we walked over. Unfortunately they started the parade with a bunch of fire trucks and police cars with their sirens on, and I kind of freaked out. I just kept saying: "Daddy, hold me, hold me!" So he did...the entire time. Meanwhile Mom & Dad enjoyed the classic cars and mini go carts.
We walked back home, napped and then got dressed for a swim party accross the street at my favorite neighbor Mark's house. I kind of have a crush on Mark :) We swam for hours, visited with friends and I ate a ton of corn on the cob. YUM!
We had a very short break and then it was time for fireworks! Well, Mom and Dad tried to make this fun for me, but I still had PTSD from the parade sirens. So the first loud sound and I was out of there. Nana & Lou were there and I said: "Nana take Lily bed now!" We went inside and I went to sleep. There are many future fireworks shows I can enjoy when I am good and ready!

Summer Fun

We had a fun visit with my Uncle Vince and cousin Emily a few weeks ago. We did a lot of swimming (which is my favorite thing right now!) and ate a lot of BBQ (just corn on the cob for thanks!) I had so much fun playing with Emily. We chased each other around the house and played dolls and playhouse outside. I sure wish they lived closer :( But we get to visit with them again in August before they move even further away to Boston.
Changing diapers on my big girl bed. Hey Mom & Dad, I'm not a baby anymore!
